Charitable Causes
Annually the Walworth County Deputy Sheriff’s Association donates $25,000 back to the community that we are sworn to serve and protect through the following programs:
Toys for Kids Program
Annual program in conjunction with Walworth County Human Services, which benefits children in need throughout Walworth County during the Christmas season.
WCDSA Scholarship Program
Annual scholarship program to offer financial assistance for High School seniors, who are a resident of Walworth County, and who will be enrolling in an accredited two (2) or four (4) year college or university.
Jeff Patek Memorial Scholarship
Annual scholarship in memory of Jeff Patek, who passed away on June 23, 2016 after a strong and courageous fight against cancer. Jeff served the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office for 23 years and, at the time of his death, was a Sergeant assigned to the Walworth County Drug Enforcement Unit and Commander of the SWAT team. This scholarship was established in memory of Jeff to offer financial assistance for High School seniors, who are a resident of Walworth County, who will be enrolling in an accredited two (2) or four (4) year college or university and pursuing a career in Law Enforcement.
Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) Kids Camp
This camp is held for surviving children (6-14 years of age) and their parent/guardian of law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty. It is the goal for campers to leave the week with a continuing support system of peers who truly understand and gain a sense of personal growth with hope for the future. The summer camp is held at Salvation Army Wonderland Camp in Camp Lake, Wisconsin.
